The Vieux Port, the old port, is a lively place where the smell of the sea immediately meets you. Here you can buy fresh fish every morning from the fishermen themselves. Bordering the Vieux Port, towards the Préfecture, you will find the recently refurbished city centre with many chic shops, concept stores and restaurants. The Cours Honoré-d'Estienne-d'Orves is the central square with many cosy terraces. The giant food halls Les Grandes Halles du Vieux Port opened here in 2022. At the port you will also find the Théâtre La Criée, whose name refers to the former function of this place: the fish auction.
