This is your district if you love architecture; from the sophistication of the Romans to the sleek buildings of the 30s and 40s.
The San Giuseppe and Porto districts are ideal if you want to get to the vibrant heart of the city. The centrepiece is the main shopping street Via Toledo. You'll find stately 16th- and 17th-century buildings as well as large, sleek ones. You'll also find a fusion of architecture and traditions and squares like Piazza Dante, surrounded by book and music shops. In addition, there is Piazza Gesù Nuovo with the impressive churches in the area and Piazza Municipio with a beautiful metro station and where you can admire the Fontana del Nettuno. There is no shortage of good food and nice cafés here.
