It’s mainly the atmospheric streets, small trattorias and lively squares that attract both tourists and locals. A must-see is Santa Maria in Trastevere, a church featuring elements from antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque period. Take a stroll up the Janiculum Hill, which towers above the rest of the neighbourhood and offers a fantastic view.
