This up-and-coming neighbourhood in San Sebastián, Gros, is situated on Zurriola, the city’s premier surfing beach. This beach attracts large numbers of young people in the summer. It is an authentic, working-class neighbourhood, traditionally home to many surfers and students. You often see them walking or cycling from the neighbourhood to the beach with their surfboards under their arms. Recently, more and more new bars and restaurants have been popping up in Gros: trendy eateries serving the most original pintxos (Basque tapas), sometimes combined with international flavours. At the end of the surf beach, you can take a stroll with views of surfers, the sea and the sunset.
