This up-and-coming neighbourhood in San Sebastián is situated on Playa de Zurriola, the city’s premier surfing beach. This beach attracts large numbers of young people in the summer. Gros is a working-class neighbourhood, traditionally home to many surfers and students. You’ll often see them walking or cycling from the neighbourhood to the beach with their surfboards under their arms. Recently, more and more new bars and restaurants have been popping up in Gros: trendy eateries serving original pintxos, sometimes combined with international flavours.
