In the city centre, the famous sights and the places locals like to visit are right next to each other.
Everyone knows Utrecht for its canals and the Dom, two sights that tourists know how to find. But in the inner city you will also find many places that Utrechters themselves like to visit. For example, popular neighbourhood Wijk C, with narrow streets and brown pubs. Another tip is the Voorstraat. This street used to have a somewhat shabby image, due to the many coffee shops and prostitutes in the Hardebollenstraat. Meanwhile, the windows have closed and more and more young entrepreneurs are settling in this part of town. In the Museum Quarter, you will find medieval houses and hidden courtyards, the cosy Twijnstraat and no fewer than seven museums.
