The fishing villages of Cabanyal, Canyamelar, Cap de França and Malvarossa together make up the Poblats Marítims. After more than thirty years of political wrangling over the future of this neighbourhood, a decision has finally been reached. The area is being regenerated, whilst preserving the existing listed buildings. This decision has given the neighbourhood a new lease of life. Many properties are now being bought up and innovative entrepreneurs are launching exciting new ventures here. Wine bodegas, alternative pubs and traditional tapas bars line the streets. Also worth a visit are the Museo del Arroz and the museum of the Easter processions, the Museo Semana Santa Marinera.
