In this district, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets, such as on the quay of the Biennale at In Paradiso.
Discover Venice from a quieter but cosy neighbourhood in Castello East. Iconic for this district is the imposing Arsenale, where many ships used to be built. Until about 15 years ago, Castello East was a real working-class district, but that has changed with the art and architecture exhibitions of the Biennale. Now on Via Garibaldi you will find all kinds of restaurants, bars and local shops. More and more people are also coming to live in this part of Venice, as house prices are lower there. Laundry hangs outside, children go to school: here you can see the 'ordinary' life of Venetians.
