Budapest's up-and-coming neighbourhoods. Where a few years ago it was frowned upon to come here, they are now the place to be.
By many local residents, this neighbourhood is still seen as a problem area. See here the other side of life in a metropolis. This neighbourhood is also popularly called 'Chicago', but in reality this is not so bad. Large parts have been refurbished as part of one of the largest urban renewal projects in Central Europe. Here you will find the past glory of once grand 18th- and 19th-century architecture, crumbling courtyards and eclectic facades. Many of the city's most notable buildings can therefore be found here. You'll also find plenty of places to stay well and cheaply.
