Lovely to stroll through the city centre in the evening. From St Michael's Hill, you have a great view of the three towers.
If you prefer to stay in the heart of the city, this is the place to be. This is the historic centre of Ghent, where it is always cosy. Along Graslei and Korenlei you will find old stepped gable houses such as the old 'Cooremetershuys' which dates back to the 13th century. From here you can explore Ghent's inland waterways by boat. The guide will tell you more about the city's origins and history. Once back on shore, you can enjoy shopping in the car-free streets and settle down at a nice café. Walking across Korenmarkt to Sint-Baafsplein, you will come across old and contemporary monuments of which the city is rightly proud.
