Lovers of culture and history get their fill in Stare Miasto, where Kraków's rich history is everywhere.
If you are a lover of architecture and culture and are looking for a cosy neighbourhood, this is the place to be. In Kraków, many buildings survived World War II. Stare Miasto, or the 'Old Town', is proof of that. Much of its original splendour has been restored to its former glory. Here you will find many sights, such as Wawel Castle and Planty Park. The beating heart of the district is Rynek Główny, Europe's largest medieval market square. More towards the edge of the centre, you get a picture of the daily life of Poles. They do their shopping there and congregate in the many hip coffee shops and cafés.
