Once an industrial area, now a destination for fashion and design enthusiasts.
This is where you can treat yourself to a spot of shopping or a visit to a museum, whilst stopping off somewhere for a meal in between. Until the end of the last century, large companies took advantage of the nearby railway lines and built their factories in the Tortona district. When these premises became vacant, the first events of what would later become the Fuorisalone were organised here. Much of the district has now been regenerated, and many designers, fashion houses and modelling agencies have their (Milanese) headquarters here, alongside a number of museums.
