Once an industrial area, it is now the place for lovers of fashion and design.
This is where you entertain yourself with a good shopping session or a museum visit, while enjoying a meal somewhere in between. Until the end of the last century, large companies took advantage of the nearby railways and built their factories in the Tortona district. When these premises became vacant, the first events of what later became the Fuorisalone were organised here. Since then, much of the district has been refurbished and many designers, fashion houses and modelling agencies have their (Milanese) headquarters here, as well as a number of museums.
