Dorsoduro is both the cultural and student district of Venice. There are two universities, famous museums and many cultural spaces. Hip cafés, cosy lunch spots and snack bars with affordable prices, you'll find it all on and around Campo Santa Margherita. The Zattere is a wide, sunny quay on which you can take a nice stroll. There are terraces and restaurants and great views, especially from the Ponte dell'Accademia. The island of Giudecca belongs to Dorsoduro and is becoming a popular residential area for young Venetian families.
